Job Description:
Our client is an internationally recognized household name in leisure and entertainment, established for nearly 70 years. They are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join their team, responsible for maintaining and repairing niche sector heavy engineering equipment.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to ensure rides are safe, reliable, and operational, supporting the overall performance and safety standards.
Core responsibilities include:
* Maintaining high standards of workmanship and presentation of rides.
* Carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance, supporting ride reliability and working closely with Operations to implement improvements.
* Conducting regular safety checks according to manufacturer recommendations, understanding ride manuals, and ensuring compliance.
* Managing parts procurement, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and maintaining stock levels.
* Maintaining cleanliness and safety in workshops and associated areas, ensuring tools and equipment are inspected and record-keeping is up-to-date.
* Monitoring work quality, addressing non-conformities, and sharing best practices.
* Improving communication within the team and reporting safety issues immediately.
* Following PPE and lock-off procedures diligently.
* Supporting team training and undertaking necessary training yourself.
* Using Ride Maintenance systems (Mobaro) for reporting and trend analysis, and producing certification for installations as needed.
Qualifications required include at least NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with a strong understanding of fault diagnosis and repair. Additional training in Working at Heights, First Aid, H&S, and MEWP/telehandler operation is advantageous. The candidate must have experience with maintenance systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work safely at heights.
