Job Summary
The Senior Care Assistant plays a vital role in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. The Senior Care Assistant will also take on supervisory responsibilities such as administering medication and contributing to the development of care plans tailored to individual needs. (NO SPONSORSHIPS)
Duties
* Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Administer medication and ensure proper recording and compliance in accordance with care standards.
* To provide care in accordance with current best practices, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements and relevant regulations, under the direction of the Manager
* Support residents in daily activities such as meal preparation, medication management, and mobility assistance.
* Develop and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
* Participate in audits.
* To provide leadership and support to the care staff within the service
* To supervise the care services within the organisation in accordance with agreed standards
* Maintain accurate records of resident progress and any changes in health status.
* Foster effective communication with residents, families, and team members to promote a positive living environment.
* To maintain skills at a current level, and undertake such training and development as may, from time-to-time, be required to maintain practices as up to date
* To take part in supervision/Team meetings and Appraisals and work towards performing supervisions/Team meetings
* Flexibility in working shifts, including evening, weekends and bank holidays
Skills
* Proven experience in senior care or within a care home environment is essential.
* Strong leadership qualities with prior supervising experience preferred.
* Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and colleagues.
* Ability to develop and implement comprehensive care plans tailored to individual needs.
* Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and documentation effectively.
* A valid driving licence is advantageous.

Pay: £12.65 per hour
Expected hours: 33 – 44 per week
