KS1 Teaching Assistant – Thornton, Lancashire

Are you passionate about supporting young learners in their early educational journey? Teaching Personnel is currently working closely with a welcoming Primary School in Thornton, Lancashire, to recruit a dedicated KS1 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.
The Role:
This is a full-time, long-term position that will run for the entire academic year, supporting children in Key Stage 1. You will work closely with class teachers to provide targeted support, help manage classroom behaviour, and contribute to a positive and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assisting the teacher in delivering the KS1 curriculum
* Supporting individual pupils and small groups with their learning
* Promoting positive behaviour and ensuring the safety and well-being of pupils
* Helping to prepare classroom materials and resources
* Providing feedback to teachers and contributing to progress reviews
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with primary-aged children (ideally in KS1)
* A patient, caring and enthusiastic approach to learning support
* A team player with excellent communication skills
* A relevant qualification (Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) is desirable
* An up-to-date DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one
