Job responsibilities
ASSOCIATE CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST (Palliative Care)
Location: Sydenham and Bromley
Department: Community Palliative Care Team (includes all our services)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Sunday on a rota basis) - part-time considered
Salary: £42,939-£50,697 per annum (inclusive of HCA, equivalent to AfC band 6)

We are looking for compassionate nurses to join our community palliative care team. Our team operates across a 7-day week, providing services from 7.30am to 9pm. Roles include working in our Single Point of Contact team, and in our Bromley and Sydenham-based teams, providing telephone and video triage, home visits, and outpatient consultations. We welcome registered nurses or paramedics with experience in end-of-life care or those eager to develop in palliative care.
Your new role
You will support individuals in the last phase of life, helping them articulate their wishes and goals, and assisting families. You will provide expert symptom control, social, emotional, and spiritual care, and offer advice and education to primary healthcare and hospital staff as part of an interdisciplinary team.
To succeed in this role
You need to be compassionate and resilient, with relevant experience at band 5 (or equivalent). You should have good communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a team and manage stressful situations.
