Cobalt is partnering with a well‑established multi‑disciplinary property consultancy in the Midlands to seek a Chartered Surveyor to join and grow its Commercial Agency team. This client‑facing role is tailored for an experienced commercial agent rather than a purely general practice surveyor.
The Role
You will play a key role within the commercial agency function, acting as a trusted advisor to landlords, occupiers and investors, while supporting junior team members and working closely with the Head of Commercial Agency.
Responsibilities
* Build and maintain strong relationships with property owners, occupiers and investors.
* Lead sales, lettings and acquisition instructions across commercial property sectors.
* Develop and implement marketing strategies for commercial properties.
* Prepare market appraisals and valuations in line with RICS standards.
* Provide market insight on rental values, investment trends and opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal procedures.
* Actively network and generate new business opportunities.
About You
* RICS qualified (MRICS), ideally with 4–8 years’ PQE.
* Strong background in commercial agency (sales & lettings focus essential).
* Confident negotiator with proven client relationship management skills.
* Commercially minded with the ability to win new instructions independently.
* Organised, proactive and comfortable working with autonomy.
* Keen to mentor and support junior surveyors.
