a highly motivated and organised Research Assistant to join the Neuronal Oscillations Group based in the Oxford Centre for Human Brain Activity to work on an exciting study funded by the Wellcome trust investigating the neuronal mechanisms underlying reading in children and adults. About the Role The post is funded for 3 years and is based in the Department of Psychiatry at the Warneford Hospital. You will work across the Department of Psychiatry and the Department of Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford and assist in the design, coordination, and execution of MEG and OPM-MEG recording sessions with child and adult participants at the Oxford Centre for Human Brain Activity In this varied role, you will support participant recruitment, screening, and scheduling in compliance with ethical standards and data protection regulations. You will also perform pre-processing and basic analysis of neuroimaging data under the guidance of senior researchers and maintain and organise experimental records, data logs, and research documentation. You will also support the smooth running of the Neuronal Oscillations group and contribute to wider project planning, including ideas for new research projects. About You You will hold a first degree in neuroscience, psychology, biomedical sciences, or a related field and have demonstrable experience of working with human participants in a research or clinical setting. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential as are excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with children and families. Experience with MEG, OPM-MEG, EEG, or related neuroimaging techniques and familiarity with programming software such as python would be desirable.
