Location: Brookthorpe Hall School – Gloucestershire GL4 0UN
Salary: Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience)
* Please note: basic grade SALT offers from £33,000+, Specialist from £39,500+ & Highly specialist from £48,000+*
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hours to overlap with core school hours (Part time hours may be considered)
Contract: Permanent (Term time only, or flexibility around full-time contract can be discussed based on your personal circumstances)

Our role describes a Speech and Language Therapist joining our in-house clinical team at Brookthorpe Hall School, working with education staff to deliver bespoke SLT assessment and intervention for pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, are neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs. You will hold a SLT caseload with support from a clinical supervisor and site lead, and contribute to staff training and consultation.
Responsibilities
• Deliver bespoke Speech and Language Therapy assessment and intervention within an education setting
• Collaborate with education teams, adhere to the OFG SLT Ways of Working, and maintain professional standards
• Manage a SLT caseload with supervision and support
• Contribute to staff training and consultation as required
• Support development of the multidisciplinary team and pupil independence
Essential Criteria
* Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* HCPC registered with 1-2 years post-qualification experience in a similar setting
* Knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
* Experience of multidisciplinary working
* Experience communicating with families/relatives and carers
* Interest in developing knowledge across SaLT practice
* Strong relationship-building, analytical and judgmental skills
* Good oral and written communication, time management and organisational skills
* Competent in core SaLT practice and understanding of RCSLT standards
* Knowledge of SLT assessment tools and intervention methods; ability to formulate support plans
* Knowledge of relevant legislation affecting clinical practice and management
* Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
* Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications
Desirable
* Understanding of sensory and motor differences and their impact on communication
* Understanding the relationship between arousal and communication
* Full driving license and access to a car (highly desirable)
