The Role
As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you will be responsible for creating desirable enquiries and following them through to a successful outcome. You will gather information to help us improve while building and maintaining relationships with key clients within our target markets. Reporting to the Senior BDM, the role involves strategic planning, identifying new business opportunities, and working closely with various departments to achieve company goals.
Responsibilities
* Ensure monthly sales targets are met and exceeded where possible.
* Work with the sales support team, estimating team, and SBDM to identify and secure new sales opportunities.
* Identify and secure self-discovered sales leads and see these through to conclusion.
* Build and develop good relationships with both existing and potential clients to secure future opportunities.
* Ensure proposals are prepared and submitted within agreed timeframes, in conjunction with the sales support team.
* Follow through on proposals to convert leads into sales.
* Accurately record client interactions within internal systems for reporting and sales tracking.
* Monitor and stay updated on competitor activity within the designated sales territory.
* Assist SBDM and Lead Estimator in developing new products and services.
* Participate in regional and national sales events.
Technical Skills & Experience
* Proven experience in a similar role within utilities infrastructure, ideally with a background working at UIP/ICPs and/or IDNOs.
Qualifications & Training
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
* GCSEs Grade 9-4 or equivalent.
