About the Role

Balfour Beatty is seeking a dynamic Plant Coordinator to contribute to the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) project based at our site in Redcar and Cleveland.


What you'll be doing

* Fleet Admin Management – STH (Core Fleet Initial requirements dealt with by Fleet Business Partners)
* Monitor asset utilisation across the Project – optimise the use telematics of plant and fleet equipment and minimise costs
* Ensure all operations conducted in line with the minimum Balfour Beatty H&S standards
* Maintain strong relationship with the whole project team
* Engage with project delivery team on site looking at forward pipeline of equipment needed
* Engage with OEM and BB innovation on product development
* Keep the electronic site hire administration book fully updated
* Manage site requisition management and tender allowance cost management in line with site sign off
* Work with Project team to ensure appropriate Plant & Fleet selection for any given task
* Liaise with Logistics team to manage plant and fleet movements to and from site
* Support the ATS business in managing maintenance and servicing procedures
* Ensure asset records are kept in line with BB policies and legislative requirements
* Ensure all asset defects are rectified promptly and manage supply chain as required
* Liaise with suppliers and site team to maintain plant operator competences
* Identify and raise operational deficiencies or areas for improvement
* Be the operational point of contact for all plant and fleet related issues on the Project
* Attend cost control meetings, resource reviews and contribute to weekly plant return analysis
* Work with telematics to monitor underutilised plant & fleet equipment
* Review weekly plant & fleet hire report and attend plant meetings
* Conduct site safety walks and audit equipment for BB specification compliance
* Assist in resolving invoices queries
* Manage breakdowns of internal and external plant items and log with suppliers/internal workshop
* Follow up breakdowns, hires and hires with suppliers to meet SLA
* Place purchase orders accurately and on time
* Innovate ideas and new procedures to resolve issues within the project
* Document issues relating to the Plant Hire Desk and escalate as needed
* Support procurement in sourcing supply frameworks for plant and equipment
* Support operations with supplier performance and review meetings to ensure service levels are met
* Attend senior management and contract meetings to advise on plant related issues and costs
* Provide leadership on a Zero Harm culture and lead safety from the front


Who we're looking for

The successful candidate will have the following personal qualities and experience:

* A good general understanding of plant & equipment
* Structured approach to Plant Management
* Experience managing numerous stakeholders
* Experience in the plant and equipment industry
* Experience in managing a large stakeholder community
* Customer focus and a proactive, self-motivated approach
* Effective communication skills at all levels
* Agile and flexible working approach
* Ability to communicate with senior leadership, OEMs, supply chain partners, and site personnel
* Ability to identify areas for improvement and drive actions
* Strong time management and ability to manage multiple projects
* Self-motivated with a drive to improve the business
* Lead by example in safety


Competencies

* Broad business thinking with sound commercial judgement and innovative long-term thinking
* Self-starter with initiative and determination to achieve outcomes
* Strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with MS Project
* Previous site-based and/or senior plant management experience preferred
