As an Employee Relations Specialist VP, you will be responsible for advising on multifaceted workplace matters and ensuring compliance with Barclays policies and practices. The purpose of your role is to provide commercial, pragmatic, and timely advice to stakeholders to mitigate employee legal and reputational risk.
To be successful as an Employee Relations Specialist VP, you should have experience with:
* Previous experience in an HR generalist role; ER experience would be preferred.
* Relevant experience working in a large-scale institution; financial services experience would be preferred.
* An understanding of employment legislation; familiarity with UK employment law and requirements concerning UK Conduct Rules.
Additional highly valued skills may include:
* Previous experience in ER Cases and/or ER Policy and/or ER Change Activity.
* Ability to guide and navigate through complex change.
* Ability to handle and manage multiple differing priorities.
* Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence others and distill information into key messages.

This is a permanent, full-time role based in Glasgow.
Purpose of the role
To support the business with the management of employee relations cases, in line with relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. This includes providing professional advice, support, and guidance to managers and employees on topics such as Disciplinary, Capability, Grievance, and Sickness, and investigating matters as required.
Accountabilities
* Provision of ER advice on various topics, including reviewing and drafting documentation, advising on process, and assessing potential employment/legal risks. Support may be provided directly, especially in complex, senior, and regulatory matters.
* Conduct investigations to resolve employee complaints, grievances, and disciplinary matters, guiding managers and employees as needed.
* Develop, implement, and maintain employee relations policies and procedures aligned with laws, regulations, and business strategy.
* Coordinate ER training with control partners, focusing on prevention.
* Produce and share ER metrics, insights, and trends with stakeholders.
Vice President Expectations
* Contribute to strategy, drive requirements, recommend changes, plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and improve policies/processes; escalate breaches.
