A leading specialist civil engineering contractor that operate across Kent and Sussex, delivering long-term frameworks on civil engineering and MEICA works for their client, has an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to complement their team in Kent.
This pivotal position is to provide a Quantity Surveying role at the project level, interfacing with operations and reporting to the management team. To act as a day-to-day link between the operational and commerteams team. The role covers small to intermediate work groups and contains the opportunity to progress the commercial function across the business.
This is a hybrid working role with 1-2 days per week working from the office.
The Role
* The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for administering NEC3 contracts, Options A and C, including the PSC.
* The Quantity Surveyor will maintain contract project documentation
* Prepare and issue EWNs and CEs to the supply chain and clients
* They will attend weekly and monthly commercial meetings at a project level
* Monitor change control at a project level
* Liaise with the programmer(s) at a project level
* They will also maintain pre, during and post-contract liaison with clients and the supply chain.
* Oversee supply chain negotiation and let the package of work
* The Senior Quantity Surveyor will also manage and value variations/ CEs
* They will prepare and submit monthly valuations, final accounts and project tenders, including follow-up
* They will develop and maintain relationships with relevant client representatives and supply chain contacts
Experience Required
* BSc Degree in Quantity Surveying, with a minimum of 5 years' experience in an NEC contract environment
* Demonstrable understanding of both Pre-Contract and Post-Contract work
* Proficient working knowledge of the NEC 3 main and subcontract contract forms (essential)
* Strong written and verbal communication skills (essential)
* Strong user of Excel, charts, pivots, lookups and sheet automation.
