Media and Communications Manager
London (with hybrid working)

The Organisation
Our client is an independent charity working towards better education.
They achieve this by supporting educators and institutions to enable better practices and generate research that supports their efforts with results that closes the educational gap and benefits children of all ages.
They are now looking for a Media and Communications Manager to join them on a full-time basis, working 40 hours per week, for a 12 month fixed term contract to cover a period of maternity leave.

The Role
As the Media and Communications Manager, you’ll lead on shaping and delivering impactful communications that champion our client’s mission.
Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, including senior leadership, you will co-ordinate communications plans, amplify research, and maintain our client’s strong reputation in the sector.
You’ll secure high-impact media coverage, draft press releases, pitch stories to national and trade media, and prepare spokespeople for public engagement. A key focus will be ensuring their messages reach teachers, school leaders, and early years settings with clarity and relevance.

Additionally, you will:
- Directly manage the Digital Communications Officer and guide content planning
- Oversee the communications planning grid and evaluate the success of campaigns
- Ensure all published materials reflect our client’s house style and messaging
- Maintain strong relationships with grantees, evaluators, and media contacts
- Support internal communications and stakeholder co-ordination around major launches

About You
To be considered as a Media and Communications Manager, you will need:
- Experience working in a communications or media role and/or in an education-setting
- Excellent written communication and editing skills
- Outstanding relationship management abilities
- A genuine interest in the education sector for 2-19 year olds in England

All staff are subject to a check by the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). The level shall be a “Basic” level check.

The closing date for this role is 3rd July 2025.
First stage interviews will be held on 11th July 2025 with second stage on 17th July 2025.
