Asset Management are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators. Where you fit in. As our Environmental Advisor you will provide expert advice to the business on matters concerning environmental regulation. You will be providing advice to the business on the impact of new, changed and existing environmental legislation. You will provide regulatory and permitting support and advice to capital investment schemes to ensure that they comply with the Companys environmental quality obligations. You will also assist or lead environmental investigations in support of both capital and operational activities of the business. You will use your technical knowledge to ensure that policies, procedures and associated interpretations are up to date and disseminated within the business. You will also assist in the production of Asset Management Plan submissions. A key aspect of the role will be influencing the application of environmental legislation and associated Environment Agency policies and procedures by developing and maintaining links with environmental regulatory bodies and NGOs at regional level. What skills & qualifications you will need: Our successful candidate will have a good understanding of the key pieces of environmental legislation related to the water industry and the various environmental permissions required by the business. You will have a good understanding of environmental science, particularly related to water industry and the key environmental guidance and regulatory approaches adopted by the environmental regulator, in regard to the companys activities. Alternatively you may have operational experience in the water industry complying with environmental requirements and want to move across to a more regulatory role. You will also have the following skills: Good data handling and analysis skills. Proficient user of word-processing and spreadsheets. Strong written and oral communication. Can present effectively to small groups of people (up to 20). Able to influence and negotiate on environmental regulatory matters at a local level. Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.
