Job Purpose: To carry out the installation, jointing, testing, and maintenance of underground and overhead power cables (typically LV and HV up to 132kV), ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with industry standards and company procedures. Key Responsibilities: Carry out installation and jointing of LV and HV underground cables, including straight joints, terminations, and pot ends. * Interpret technical drawings, site plans, and utility records with accuracy to support site delivery. * Conduct on-site cable testing and fault location using certified methods and equipment * Teamwork & Stakeholder Engagement * Collaborate effectively with supervisors, site leads, and adjacent trades to coordinate activities and resolve issues. * Provide technical guidance to apprentices and support their on-the-job learning. * Performance & Record-Keeping * Deliver tasks within agreed timeframes and to required quality standards, minimising delays and rework. * Maintain jointing logs, test records, and as-built documentation to a high standard for QA and audit purposes. * Contribute to efficiency improvements by identifying potential process or material enhancements. * Tools, Materials & Plant Management * Ensure correct and secure handling of joint kits, cable drums, and temporary protection systems. * Maintain housekeeping and storage areas in accordance with site log...
