Suitable candidates will need to be able to demonstrate previous laboratory experience in this field.
Key roles and responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities associated with this position include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Performing a variety of physical tests on soil, rock and aggregate samples to the highest level of safety and quality standards.
2. Develop an understanding of the test methods and why samples are tested.
3. Assisting in the calibration and maintenance of all technical equipment.
4. Maintaining a clean and orderly laboratory environment.
5. Ensuring the quality of work produced is to high standards and tested in a timely manner.
6. Sample receipt, storage and disposal.
Required experience
7. 5+ GCSEs including English, Maths and Science.
8. Previous experience in a geotechnical or materials testing lab.
9. Good numeracy and literacy: able to write clearly and accurately.
10. A good eye for detail, diligent in following procedures.
11. Good IT skills, especially the use of MS Excel.
There will be lots of manual handling involved in the role and will require moving heavy items on a frequent basis.
