GSL Education are looking to appoint a dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Nottingham. This role provides the opportunity to give personalised support, helping a child to engage with learning, build confidence, and reach their full potential. Role Overview: As a 1:1 SEND TA, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support for a pupil with additional needs. You will adapt resources, encourage participation, and provide consistent encouragement to ensure the child feels included and supported. As a 1:1 SEND TA, you will: Provide direct 1:1 support to a pupil with SEND, both inside and outside the classroom. Assist in delivering targeted interventions and differentiated activities. Encourage positive learning behaviours and help build social skills. Monitor and track progress, feeding back to the class teacher and SENCO. Support with classroom organisation and ensure resources meet the child’s needs. Promote inclusion and help the child overcome barriers to learning. Requirements for 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant: Previous experience working with children with SEND, ideally in a 1:1 setting. A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable. Strong communication, patience, and empathy. A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply). A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
