Whilst working to a good standard of health and safety in a team working environment, you will deliver and follow routine planned maintenance schedules, reporting of duties and responding to breakdowns.

The Jobholder is required to fully engage in the activities of a multi-disciplined team within the engineering function, ensuring that plant operational targets, product quality, customer service, health & safety standards are met in line with the maintenance execution and development objectives.
The Role
9. Undertake the manufacturing process within the team area of responsibility to ensure that departmental objectives and targets are achieved.
10. Ensure high standards of health & safety, act within the team to continuously improve safety standards and practice and will identify and develop safety Initiatives within the team.
11. Undertake designated responsibilities under statutory regulations.
12. Develop and initiate process improvements within the team.
13. Work as part of an of a team.
14. Ensure the team resources are effectively deployed, work carried out efficiently, to set safety standards and reported back effectively on the INFOR system.
15. Assess self-performance and develop, implement and review appropriate training plans to ensure individual optimum performance.
16. Ensure effective communications within the team and between other teams.
17. Ensure that the team leader is the first point of contact for individual team member’s problems and queries and will ensure that appropriate issues are resolved to ensure the smooth operation of the team with minimum disruption.
Required
18. The role requires a candidate to be fully conversant with mechanical aspects of a rolling mill and associated plant and equipment.
19. Recognised Mechanical apprenticeship (HNC/ONC level or equivalent)
20. Mechanical experience of heavy manufacturing industry and use of mechanical equipment, specialist tools, lifting equipment for example
21. Basic hydraulic, welding and pipefitting
22. Previous experience Mechanical maintenance of handling equipment, pumps and pipework systems
23. Previous experience of PPM and reporting of PPM activities and breakdowns
24. Previous experience of maintenance of Gearbox’s and coupling systems
25. Experience of working in confined spaces and at heights
26. A good understanding and knowledge of Health Safety Legislation with experience of adhering to SWP’s, risk assessments, procedures and permit systems
27. Good level of problem solving awareness with an ability to fault find of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
28. Experience of crane maintenance
This is a day shift role 8am -4pm including weekends.
