Infrastructure Engineer (Permanent)

I’m currently working with a civil engineering consultancy that is looking to strengthen its infrastructure team due to sustained workload growth. They are seeking a capable and driven Infrastructure Engineer to support ongoing projects and contribute to the continued development of the business.
The role will be based in Leeds and will primarily focus on projects across the North of England, with some involvement on schemes elsewhere in the UK.
The Role
You’ll join a busy civil engineering design team delivering highways and drainage infrastructure for residential, commercial, and industrial developments. The position offers exposure to a wide range of development-led projects and the opportunity to take designs through the full technical approval process.
Key responsibilities include:
Design of adoptable highways and drainage schemes
Preparation and delivery of S38, S278, and S104 designs
Liaison with local authorities and statutory undertakers
Supporting projects from concept through to approval and delivery
Working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary environmentExperience & Technical Requirements
Proven UK consultancy experience delivering development-led infrastructure schemes
Hands-on experience with:
Section 38 (adoptable highways)
Section 278 (highway works)
Section 104 (adoptable drainage)
Familiarity with MicroDrainage, PDS, Civils 3D, and AutoCAD
Experience limited solely to major highways, rail, airport, or framework-based infrastructure is unlikely to be suitable unless supported by clear development-focused S38/S278/S104 work
Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent); professional accreditation or working towards it is advantageousAbout You
Minimum of 3 years’ UK-based consultancy experience
Strong understanding of current design standards and approval processes
Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple workloads
Clear and confident communicator
Committed to professional development and career progression
Full UK driving licence
Must have the right to live and work in the UKWhat’s on Offer
