You don’t need any previous experience to become a Support Worker with Sense. We’ll provide full training for our part-time and full-time roles. You will join our Supported Living Service in Louth, supporting 3 individuals with learning and/or sensory disabilities. This is a permanent role for 30 hours per week (shifts discussed at interview; vary between 7am to 11pm; one staff member sleeping in between 11pm–7am).
Responsibilities
* Support 3 individuals with learning and/or sensory disabilities in a supported living setting in Louth.
* Help with everyday tasks such as cooking and cleaning.
* Assist with personal care and hygiene, finances, medications and wellbeing as required.
* Support individuals to go into the community for shopping or other trips and to participate in social life and activities.
* Provide care and support at night as part of regular sleep-in duties (some shifts paid at £50 per night); may include waking to provide care.
* Work flexibly in a team, including lone working when necessary, and participate in training as needed.
* Attend training and development opportunities to support improving outcomes for the people supported.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Positive, with a can-do attitude; caring, patient and empathetic; good communicators and listeners.
* Flexible team player with the ability to adapt to varied shifts and duties.
* Confident with lone working and able to handle occasional weekend sleep-in duties.
* Full UK driving license desirable; own vehicle may be required depending on location.
* No two days will be the same; committed to empowering others to live independently.
Shift and Pay
Permanent, 30 hours per week. Shifts between 7am and 11pm with one staff member sleeping in 11pm–7am. Hourly rate from £12.50 with enhanced rates for overtime and annual pay reviews/rises.
