Electrical Engineer - Continental Shift (4 on / 4 off) - FM Contrac t Location: Borehamwood Salary: £45,000-£47,000 shift pattern Shifts: Continental 4 on / 4 off (days) - 06:00-18:00 and 10:00-22:00 Hays are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a busy facilities team on a large, multi-building site. This is a hands-on role supporting a high-footfall environment, so you'll be comfortable being on the move throughout the day, lots of walking, varied plant areas, and a strong mix of reactive maintenance and planned PPMs.You'll be part of an on-site engineering function responsible for keeping building services running safely, compliantly, and efficiently, covering electrical work alongside exposure to mechanical systems and water management. The Role You'll be responsible for: Electrical maintenance across a large estate (reactive and PPM) Fault-finding, repairs, and first-time fixes to minimise downtime Completing PPM schedules to agreed service levels and statutory requirements Supporting day-to-day operation of building services including mechanical interfaces and water management systems Accurate completion of job sheets / CAFM updates and maintenance records Escalating risks, defects, or compliance concerns promptly Working to high health & safety standards and site procedures What We're Looking For Essential: Level 3 Electrical Qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent) Experience in building services / facilities maintenance (or similar large-site environments) Strong fault-finding skills and confidence working independently on shift.
