Rate of Pay: £24.93 - £32.88 per hour
Summary:
The HR & OD Manager will support the Corporate Head of Communications, HR & OD in delivering an effective and professional HR service across the organisation. The role involves providing expert HR advice on complex employee relations matters, managing HR Business Partners, and supporting managers to achieve service objectives through effective people management.
Responsibilities:
* Support the Corporate Head of Communications, HR & OD in managing the HR service and deputise in their absence when required.
* Provide expert HR advice on complex employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, capability, and sickness cases.
* Manage and support HR Business Partners to ensure effective HR service delivery across the Council.
* Deliver a comprehensive HR service to assigned service areas, assisting managers with workforce planning and people management strategies.
* Provide guidance on organisational change including restructures, TUPE transfers, shared services, and organisational design.
* Support managers in handling employee relations matters up to and including dismissal and employment tribunal resolution.
Qualification:
* Educated to A level standard
* Associate Diploma in HR or equivalent (at least Level 5)
* Attended range of short courses on HR topics
Essentials:
* Substantial knowledge of employment law and experience providing comprehensive HR advice to managers.
* Experience advising on disciplinary, grievance, capability, and sickness management cases.
* Experience supporting organisational reviews, restructures, and change management initiatives.
* Strong knowledge of TUPE regulations, recruitment law, and equality legislation.
* Experience identifying solutions to complex people management issues.
