This is a Mott MacDonald Bentley role, employed by Mott MacDonald. Mott MacDonald Bentley is a joint venture between JN Bentley and Mott MacDonald. The role will involve working across the joint venture, with colleagues from both Mott MacDonald and JN Bentley.

Role context
You’ll contribute to projects that benefit communities, including securing water supplies for future generations and protecting homes and businesses from flood risk. The role involves major water and wastewater schemes across project lifecycles from feasibility through to construction, within a capable, award-winning team and an annual turnover in excess of £500 million.
Projects
We are involved in Northumbrian Water’s Living Water Enterprise, a large-scale programme to deliver AMP8 workloads and beyond, including a contract with a projected workload of £3.6bn. Northumbrian Water supplies water and sewerage services to around 4.4 million people, and has a history of collaboration with MMB and JN Bentley since 2001.
Responsibilities
* Provide design support and guidance for schemes; ensure designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards.
* Collaborate with commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions through design, construction and beyond.
* Engage with clients to manage relationships using a one-team approach to achieve project aims.
* Manage interfaces and integration of civil design with other disciplines; produce appropriate documentation.
* Act as technical checker on project documents and undertake technical reviews across teams.
* Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, including standard designs, sustainable solutions and digital tools.
* Undertake site reviews to ensure buildability and integration with existing systems.
* Support the development of the civil engineering team through coaching, mentoring and resource planning for projects.
What you’ll need
* Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
* Chartership (CEng) with a relevant Engineering Institution.
* Experience delivering high-quality outputs in line with design, quality and safety standards.
* Effective communication with team members and stakeholders; methodical approach to problem solving.
* Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to sites across the operational region.
