CK Group are recruiting for a Senior Technologist – Optical Engineer, to join a global materials manufacturing company, based near Wigan, on a full time, permanent basis.
The Company:
Our client strives to be the best innovator of high-performance glass and glazing solutions. They now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Technologist and are offering a competitive salary of up to £55,000 depending on experience.
Location:
The Senior Technologist position will be based at the company's site near Wigan, easily commutable by road from Merseyside including Liverpool, Ormskirk, Skelmersdale and Manchester. Please note a full UK driving licence and car ownership is required due to the company's location.
Your main duties will be:
Creating and enhancing automatic inspection systems from concept through to implementation
Providing novel and innovative solutions to complex inspection problems
Working with many packages from legacy systems through to high level programming languages
Partnering with R&D and production teams to identify and deliver instruments and process improvements safely and effectively
Providing both on-site and remote technical support, while upgrading and maintaining existing systemsYour Background:
The ideal candidate for this role will have the following skills and experience:
Degree in a STEM subject
Minimum of 5 years' practical of optical systems and their practical applications
Experience of industrial metrology and precision measurement techniques
Experience of software development, including, mathematical algorithm design, image processing, C#, or other languages
