As Finance Technology Tech Lead, you will own the delivery of complex finance and accounting technology change across a multi‑entity, multi‑currency environment. You'll lead a small team of onshore and offshore technologists, shape architecture and data flows from trade capture through to the general ledger, and help Finance produce accurate, timely consolidated financials across the region.
What you'll be doing
Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of finance technology projects across general ledger, subledgers and financial reporting (FX, intercompany, period management, consolidated reporting, P2P, T&E, asset management, revenue and expense, etc.).
Define subledger consolidation and data‑migration strategy across corporate lending, capital markets and expense subledgers, ensuring control, auditability and high‑quality data lineage.
Act as the bridge between Finance and Technology, shaping how consolidated financials are produced from disparate applications and platforms, and presenting solutions at architecture/governance forums.
Provide hands‑on technical leadership: steer architecture and design, review business/functional requirements, produce and review technical designs, test strategies and operational readiness plans.
Ensure all solutions align to internal risk frameworks and external regulation (SoX, Basel, PRA, BCBS239 etc.), embedding robust financial controls, security, data privacy and operational resilience into design.
Manage and mentor a small team (c.5 reports) plus third‑party vendors/implementation partners, ensuring high‑quality delivery using appropriate Agile/Waterfall methodologies.
Lead remediation and optimisation initiatives arising from audit, compliance or control findings across finance platforms, data warehouses and reporting.What you'll need
Significant experience (c.8+ years) in IT project delivery within Financial Services, with at least 4 years focused on Finance / Accounting Technology in an investment bank or major FS institution.
Strong practical understanding of how P&L and balance sheet are produced, month‑end close activities, trial balance, disclosures and year‑end processes.
Deep functional/technical knowledge of general ledger and subledger platforms (e.g. Oracle Fusion Financials / Financial Accounting Hub, SAP, Workday, OFSAA, Aptitude or similar).
Proven track record leading complex, cross‑functional finance‑technology programmes in a multi‑entity, multi‑currency, multi‑GAAP environment (IFRS / local GAAP; exposure to IFRS 9/17, Basel 3.x desirable).
Excellent grasp of system‑integration and data‑warehouse concepts: flat files, APIs, MQ, ETL (e.g. Informatica), SQL/PL‑SQL, BI/reporting for Finance (e.g. OTBI, Power BI).
Strong appreciation of IT risk, security and controls: SoX, privileged access, encryption, third‑party risk, operational resilience and data‑protection requirements.
Experience managing and developing technical teams, plus strong vendor/partner management skills.
Exceptional communication skills with proven success influencing senior stakeholders and working in culturally diverse, global organisations.
