Advert Wording
Responsible to a Finance Manager, you will be a senior practitioner within the Service, helping to maintain and develop the Service as appropriate. You will also provide leadership to the team in which you work, encouraging and supporting other team members.
Accountancy
You will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive, professional, financial support service to Members and senior managers within the Council.
You will provide a range of professional financial support services, focussing either on supporting the preparation of the Statutory Accounts, annual corporate budget processes, treasury management or, provide support to service areas within the Council in terms of monthly management accounting, advice and guidance and helping support decision making processes to enable the most effective and efficient delivery of the service resulting in the most appropriate outcomes for the residents of Kirklees.
Line Management
Additionally, you will have line management responsibility for Finance Officers/Assistant Finance Officers and will assist the Finance Manager in developing the team.
Working Arrangement
Currently the role will involve significant amounts of time working from home but with new ways of working, flexible working arrangements and excellent IT facilities at Kirklees Council, your location need not be a barrier.
