We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Chartered Building Surveyor to join our central Cambridge-based team. This role is offered on a hybrid basis, combining office and home working.
Job Purpose
We are seeking a Chartered Building Surveyor to work within our Building Consultancy team in Cambridge. Responsibilities include advising clients on building surveys, dilapidations, defect analysis, assessments, licences for alteration, schedule of conditions, contract administration, and project management across various property types including commercial, retail, healthcare, and heritage sectors.
The role involves coordinating portfolio projects for national clients, liaising across our UK offices, and actively developing client relationships with both existing and new clients. The successful candidate will also participate in networking events, client development, and engagement with local groups and professional bodies.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
* Undertaking professional instructions such as dilapidations, technical due diligence, acquisition surveys, schedules of condition, PPMs, and reinstatement cost assessments.
* Advising clients on building/property issues, including technical, financial, legal, environmental/sustainability, building regulations, and restoration matters.
* Producing instructions for external consultants for detailed surveys like planned maintenance and structural assessments.
* Providing project services including feasibility studies, cost consultancy, and contract administration.
* Client liaison and business development.
Person Specification
* MRICS Chartered status
* Good communication and organizational skills
* Highly computer literate
* Ability to work autonomously and within a team
* Full clean driving licence
