Responsibilities include acting as the point of contact for patients and medical staff on behalf of the consultant and team, ensuring queries are answered within agreed timescales and quality standards.
Other duties include sourcing and tracking case notes, ensuring urgent test results and correspondence are promptly brought to the attention of the consultant or team, and validating clinic outcome forms.
You should have an understanding of the 18-week RTT process, knowledge of the Trust Patient Access Policy, and an agreement to adhere to these policies according to National Trust Guidelines.
Additional responsibilities involve working within strict Trust and Government policies, managing waiting lists and the 18-week guideline, and effectively informing patients and clinicians of outcomes and information related to service delivery and waiting list queries.
The role requires liaising effectively with hospital wards and departments, escalating urgent problems to senior management, and providing secretarial support or cover during colleagues' absence.
