We’re working with a cutting-edge life sciences organisation based in Edinburgh to find a Lab Manager who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced environment. About the Role
As Lab Manager, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a growing molecular biology laboratory, ensuring the space is safe, well-stocked, and efficiently run. You’ll play a key role in supporting scientists and technical teams by managing lab resources, overseeing equipment maintenance, coordinating procurement, and contributing to laboratory safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
* Oversee daily laboratory operations, ensuring smooth and safe workflows
* Manage equipment servicing, calibration, and maintenance schedules
* Develop and implement lab policies, SOPs, and safety protocols
* Work closely with scientific teams to anticipate and meet their lab needs
* Maintain inventory systems, order supplies, and manage vendor relationships
* Coordinate lab inductions and training for new staff
* Support lab-related project planning and budgeting
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and internal standards
What We’re Looking For
* Experience in a laboratory management or supervisory role, ideally in molecular biology or related life sciences
* Strong understanding of lab operations, safety procedures, and equipment management
* Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
* A proactive approach and the ability to juggle multiple priorities
* Strong communication and collaboration skills across disciplines
* Degree in a life sciences discipline (e.g. molecular biology, biochemistry, biotechnology) or equivalent experience
