Corporate Credit Manager
£45K-£50K + car scheme
Once a week Coventry/ Slough
The Corporate Credit Manager will be involved in conducting credit reviews on new and existing customers that have a credit exposure or a credit limit above £100,000. This involves liaising with the credit and collections team, analysing financial data, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure sound lending strategies and efficient risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Reviewing financial statements, credit reports, and payment history to evaluate the risk of extending credit to new or existing customers.
* Establishing and enforcing credit limits for new and existing customers within agreed mandates.
* Annually managing and reviewing all corporate customers to ensure compliance with credit policies.
* Preparing and finalizing credit dossiers for submission to higher level approvers such as Credit Committees at local and HQ levels.
* Working with other business areas such as Sales and Finance to produce detailed credit dossiers.
* Chairperson for the weekly corporate underwriting meeting involving other stakeholders in the business.
* Ensuring Credit Underwriting Guidelines are followed including KYC and AML.
* Monitor and manage credit limits and exposures to minimize risk while supporting business growth.
* Building a strong working relationship with our credit reference bureaus
* Reviewing credit application documents prepared by other members of the credit team and granting approvals within agreed mandates, or declining / requesting further information as required.
* Ensuring that in-house Credit Underwriting Guidelines are followed in the preparation of credit reviews and the management of customers and their data.
Key Requirements:
* Degree and 3+ years’ corporate credit evaluation role, with a personal mandate to approve credit limits ideally in automotive or consumer finance.
* Experience in corporate credit management or a similar financial role, with commercial credit underwriting experience preferred
* Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
* Familiarity with UK/FCA regulations and best practices in credit-risk management.
* PC literate, specifically in Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint.
* Able to interpret financial statements, write credit reviews, and make recommendations about credit limits and consider securities as risk mitigation tools
