About the Role
We are seeking an Maths Teacher to join a thriving secondary School in Portsmouth. This long‑term role begins immediately after February half term and will run until July 2026, with the school open to offering a permanent contract for the right candidate.
You will be teaching across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging and well‑structured lessons that support students of varying abilities to make strong progress in Mathematics. The school is particularly keen to meet teachers who can inspire confidence, raise attainment, and contribute positively to the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities
Deliver high‑quality Maths lessons across KS3 and KS4
Plan, prepare, and assess in line with curriculum requirements
Support students of mixed abilities, including those with additional needs
Contribute to departmental planning, moderation, and curriculum development
Maintain strong behaviour management in line with school policies
Track pupil progress and provide timely feedback
Build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents
Promote a safe, inclusive, and aspirational learning environment
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics
Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 (ECTs and experienced teachers welcome)
Confident classroom practitioner with effective behaviour management
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
Enhanced DBS check (support available if required)
