Goods In Operator What’s the job & who would it suit? An opportunity has arisen to work as a Goods in Operator within SSC. The main role purpose is to support the production team in receiving all inbound materials and check and book in all items into the correct location in an accurate and timely manner. The role would suit someone who values the importance of timely and accurate bookings, with a keen eye for detail. We take responsibility for what we do The team you’ll be working in Working within the production team, you will be an integral part of delivering a great service to internal colleagues and our customers. Besides, your immediate peers, you will also work with our purchasing team to ensure that we deliver a great result for both the customer and our business. What you’ll be doing So that you can get a feel for the job, here is what you will be doing day to day: Expedite raw material orders to facilitate their arrival on time and proactively resolve any issues. Check all deliveries for quality and quantity. Book all items in using our business operating system and arrange for their placement to the correct location. All Inbound Logistics from expediting to putting away. Proactively looking to improve processes. Ensuring deliveries are booked in and available to the end user complete with all documentation attached. Communicating with the Purchasing Team when raising NCRs Using the FLT to load and off-load material Any other reasonable duties required What you’ll need to succeed Need to know The importance of timely and accurate bookings How to use a business operating system (training on Lantek will be provided) How to use the appropriate computer programmes Communicate with production when material is arriving and its availability Need to have FLT license is preferred but not essential as training can be given An understanding and knowledge of metals would be advantageous but not essential as training will be provided.
