Night Shift Maintenance Engineer
Our client, Coppice, is a market-leading and international supplier of aluminium food packaging, renowned for innovation, quality, and service. As they continue with their ambitious growth plans, they are seeking like-minded individuals to support and enhance their team on an exciting journey.
Working as part of the Engineering and Maintenance Team, you will be responsible for fault finding, maintenance, repair, and basic setting of mechanical presses, auto stacking machines, and associated plant and equipment.
Specific Role Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will:
* Carry out fault finding and diagnosis of machinery and equipment breakdowns, mainly mechanical/pneumatic, with understanding of electrical faults.
* Provide high levels of service and response times.
* Undertake preventive maintenance according to standards and maintain records.
* Repair and upgrade machinery/equipment.
* Machine and fabricate components for repairs and improvements, with measurement and drawing skills.
* Assist in site maintenance and factory repairs.
* Maintain records of breakdowns and repairs for analysis and ISO 9000 compliance.
* Liaise with internal and external personnel for parts and equipment specifications.
* Work from schedules and production plans to meet maintenance and production targets.
* Adhere to HSE requirements to ensure a safe working environment.
* Complete hazard tags as needed.
* Support continuous improvement activities.
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring BRC standards are met.
* Contribute to engineering, production, and continuous improvement activities.
* Perform any other duties necessary for the business.
Essential Knowledge & Qualifications:
* Fully qualified mechanical fitter/toolmaker.
* Understanding of H&S requirements.
* Ability to machine, fabricate, and fit mechanical parts.
* Experience in maintenance environments with mechanical and machining skills.
* Knowledge of mechanical components, pneumatics, and related circuits.
* Understanding of power press regulations.
Experience:
* Ability to interpret safety rules and operating instructions.
* Background in manufacturing environments.
* Experience with repetitive production, focusing on efficiency, OEE, customer satisfaction, and quality.
