One of the largest privately owned media and broadcasting companies in Europe, is looking for Remote Senior Wordpress Developers who will have the chance to have their work used by millions of people everyday.
The team work remotely and meet up a few times a year in the London HQ. You’ll be joining a well known brand, company and a successful team. But most importantly, you will be working very closely with a hugely talented team which we’ve had the pleasure of building over the past 24 months.
We’re looking for an experienced Senior WordPress Developer to join the distributed engineering team. You’ll play a key role in building and optimising large-scale WordPress sites and digital publishing platforms, working across front-end, back-end, and microservice architectures.
You’ll be hands-on across the full stack — designing custom Gutenberg blocks, building APIs, and optimising performance at scale. You’ll work alongside talented engineers, designers, and product thinkers who care deeply about code quality and great user experiences.
Key Responsibilities:
* 8+ years of professional WordPress development experience
* Deep knowledge of the WordPress + Gutenberg ecosystem and best practices
* Skilled at building custom blocks, RSS feeds, and WP-JSON API endpoints
* Strong front-end and back-end chops: HTML, CSS, JS, PHP, and React
* Confident using Git, branching workflows, and Agile project tools like JIRA
* Experience leading or delivering microservice projects end-to-end
* Understanding of Core Web Vitals, caching strategies, and query optimization
* Comfort with WP-Cron, WP-CLI, and writing custom commands
* Great communication skills — you’ll be working remotely with a distributed team
* Strong debugging skills (Chrome DevTools is your friend)
* A curious, resourceful problem-solver who enjoys figuring things out
