WHAT TO EXPECT
We have a fantastic opportunity for a role that will be joining Engineering Operations Department. The department is central to all of the Engineering Functions with the ability for our teams to interact with all functions across the business. The depth and breadth of activities that the department undertakes provides a fantastic opportunity to learn so much about our business and vehicles. This opportunity sits within a Cross Functional Facilities team, and we have the responsibilities to deliver facilities on time to a high quality in order to support the lifecycle of a programme. This role is key to help us in our successful delivery and provide a safe, smooth and efficient Test Facilities to our customers and our key stakeholders. We pride ourselves on demonstrating safe working practices and this in line with the overall Company’s “Destination Zero” policy as everyone’s safety is paramount.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
As Lead Facilities Project Engineer, own and deliver facility projects in line with the business and departmental processes. Deliver and report against targets specifically for quality, cost and time. Own and manage all aspects of project delivery H&S, specifically in relation to CDM 2015 requirements. Support a multi-disciplinary team to assess proposed function, feature and performance alternatives. Work within a cross-functional team to ensure robust delivery. Deliver and validate the delivery and technical targets created in the specification phase. Build, maintain and manage relationships with internal and external suppliers and stakeholders. Develop and deliver robust project plans showing requirements for finance, legislation and H&S Continuous development / improvement of technical and project delivery framework, processes and standards. Support of internal and external audits. Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as requested.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Essential:
1. Knowledge of Powertrain / propulsion system test systems, rigs and facilities – both hardware and software
2. Experience with design and physical on-site delivery of technical construction projects
3. Experience with commissioning and acceptance of complex test and automation systems
4. Technical project management experience
5. Coordination of multifunctional teams
6. Comprehensive MS office & project planning tools
7. Ability to Communicate clearly and effectively at all levels with the ability to negotiate and drive value for money
8. Experience in a testing environment, with a knowledge of measurement technology and facility maintenance requirements
9. Proactive attitude, willingness to learn new systems/processes and bring creative thinking to process improvement
10. Ability to accurately and concisely present complex technical ideas or project issues to a diverse audience
11. Ability to mentor and train others especially skilled associates and apprentices
12. Natural problem solver with proven experience and structured approach to problem solving in a technical environment
