This is an opportunity for an experienced Solution Architect to lead a greenfield digital programme at the very cutting edge of technology. The successful candidate will bring strong stakeholder leadership skills alongside a deep software engineering and government background, enabling them to validate the technical feasibility of proposed solutions. Responsibilities Define and drive the overall solution and technical direction, leveraging modern tools, platforms, and frameworks Provide technical leadership and oversight to delivery teams operating in an agile environment Continuously refine technical designs using feedback throughout the full project lifecycle Develop and own the technical strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives Proactively identify architectural risks and weaknesses, and lead the development of effective mitigations Build and maintain strong working relationships with senior stakeholders Establish and enforce architectural governance, standards, and assurance processes Required Experience Proven experience leading the design and delivery of bespoke digital solutions and platform services Strong understanding of DevOps practices, microservices architectures, and CI/CD pipelines Experience designing and implementing design systems, ideally within a military or defence context Demonstrated delivery of digital services in line with GDS (Government Digital Service) standards Solid appreciation of security standards applicable to military or sensitive public-sector digital services Deep technical background, including hands-on software development within digital service environments Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to lead both technical and business teams to successful outcomes Required: Active SC clearance, gained within the MoD or a comparable government department Additional Information Rate offered: Up to £585 per day IR35 Status: Outside Start Date: ASAP Location: 1 day per week onsite in Hampshire Initial Duration: 12 Months (Significant opportunity for extension)
