We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in central Manchester, who are recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager on a temporary six-to-eight-week contract. The position is due to start immediately, with the potential to go full time. The hourly rate of pay is negotiable up to £40.00 via an Umbrella company.The ideal candidate will hold either a NEBOSH or IOSH qualification, live within a commutable distance of central Manchester and be willing to start a role on the 5th January 2026.Duties will include (but are not limited to): Staying up to date with health and safety legislation, codes of practice, and regulations, and advising leaders on any implications for the organisationLeading the development and review of health and safety policies and procedures to ensure they are effective and compliantChampioning a strong health and safety culture across the organisation, promoting best practice at all levelsPlanning, implementing, and monitoring health and safety action plans, providing constructive feedback on performance across all business areasSupporting managers in maintaining effective H&S systems within their teamsDeveloping, implementing, and monitoring robust risk assessments, including safe systems of work and COSHH complianceIdentifying training needs and delivering health and safety training, including inductions, in collaboration with the People & Talent teamDelivering and maintaining a robust audit, inspection, and assurance programme to protect staff, contractors, customers, and visitorsExperience required:Experience required in Social HousingSkills, knowledge and expertise required:Risk assessment and managementHealth & Safety legislation Compliance and due diligenceRewards and Benefits:Hybrid workingFlexible working daysWorking hours:37 hours per week Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.James Andrews is acting as an employment agency and business in relation to this role.At James Andrews Recruitment Solutions we try to respond to all applications personally, however, due to the high volume of applications this is not always possible.
