Senior Quantity Surveyor – Major Civil Infrastructure Project

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a flagship major civil infrastructure project in Bedfordshire. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key commercial role on a high-profile scheme delivering complex infrastructure works.
The Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the commercial and contractual management of large-scale civil engineering packages. Working closely with the project team, you will ensure robust cost control, risk management, and value delivery across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the commercial management of major civil infrastructure works
* Prepare, manage, and review budgets, forecasts, and cost reports
* Administer contracts (NEC preferred), including change control and compensation events
* Manage subcontract procurement, negotiation, and account settlement
* Identify, manage, and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities
* Provide accurate and timely reporting to senior stakeholders
* Support and mentor junior commercial team members
* Ensure compliance with company procedures and industry standards
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
* Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (essential)
* Experience managing large, complex packages of work
* Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
* Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
* Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g., RICS or equivalent preferred)
