Overview

PEOPLE are at the HEART of everything we do. This role is within the Medical Specialties & Oncology Therapy team, providing therapy to inpatients with a range of medical conditions. You will work under the guidance of physiotherapists and occupational therapists, assisting patients with rehabilitation and supporting their safe discharge from hospital.

You will gather information on patient history, order equipment, follow up on exercise plans established by therapists, and work as an essential member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team. The post requires participation in a 7-day service on a rota basis. This position offers a rewarding opportunity for someone with healthcare experience to gain experience within a therapy team, with support to develop your skills and knowledge in assessment and treatment of patients across medical specialties. Access to in-service training, regular supervision and support is provided.


Main duties of the job

* Provide skilled routine and non-routine clinical and technical support to the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy team and clerical staff associated with the team.
* The state registered therapist will remain responsible for: Primary assessment of patient; Referral for treatment; Clinical discharge of patient; Setting the primary clinical treatment plan and monitoring progression; Overseeing clinical quality and ensuring appropriateness of treatment.

Essential criteria

* Level 3 Healthcare Qualification.
