Senior Medicines Management Pharmacy Technician (Clinical Services)
Band 5 – Full Time Permanent Contract.
We have an exciting opportunity to join the pharmacy Clinical Services Team at King's College NHS Trust. Responsibilities
* Develop and participate in ward‑based pharmacy services in conjunction with clinical and patient services staff.
* Support the delivery of a high‑quality pharmacy service under the direction of the line manager, ensuring standardisation of activities.
* Act as the pharmacy technical link between the wards and the pharmacy team, taking the lead in assessing and maintaining patients’ own drugs and one‑stop dispensing systems.
* Support discharge planning and patient counselling, and be expected to pass in‑house competency assessments.
* Maintain compliance with King's policies and procedures for Medicines Management Pharmacy Technicians; compliance will be monitored and assessed by the line manager.
* Maintain and develop high‑quality, consistent, patient‑focused pharmacy services to wards in conjunction with clinical and patient services staff.
* Manage calls and requests as appropriate for the pharmacy team via the WiFi phones.
* Manage and support the safe, accurate and timely supply of medicines to wards and clinics, and other areas as required, by managing the medication supply chain in conjunction with Pharmacy team members, Stores and Distribution staff.
* Adhere to and maintain quality standards and performance indicators for service developments implemented.
* Cover or participate in dispensary services as necessary; cover other specialties as required by the Clinical Services team to the same standard, in accordance with relevant policies and procedures.
* Support the Pharmacy Clinical Services team in the development of the medicines management pharmacy technician service.
* Accurately check clinically screened dispensed prescriptions, according to policy.
* Follow departmental SOPs and dispense medication accurately.
