We are looking for a Catering Assistant to work within a successful and friendly team.
Overall objectives:
To work on a shift system and ensure that the highest possible standard of food and service is given to pupils, staff, parents and visitors at all services at all times.
Main responsibilities:
* To be aware of the daily menu and ensure that relevant hot and cold areas are prepared and condiments, serving spoons etc are available
* To serve food in a professional, helpful and friendly manner
* To ensure all checklists are completed and followed
* To assist the Senior Catering Manager and Head Chef in promoting a Healthy Eating campaign which informs / educates pupils on the healthy options of the day and how to choose a healthy balanced diet
* To ensure all additional requests are carried out correctly and on time (for example match teas, refreshments for meetings etc)
* To work at additional functions or large events as required, greeting guests and serving in a professional manner
* Ensure that all areas of the servery and Dining Hall are spotlessly clean at all times and that appropriate cleaning schedules are carried out
* To be aware of all legislative requirements including health, safety, fire and hygiene legislation
* To attend daily staff briefings
Experience preferred but full training will be given.
The role is full-time (40 hours) over 6 days including a Saturday or a Sunday.
The position is term-time (35 weeks) plus 6 weeks during the summer holiday and 2 weeks at Easter. There is also a requirement to work extra hours throughout the year for events, functions and lettings during school holidays.
