We are looking for a Trainee Seed Analyst to join the Frontier team, based at Diss, on a permanent, full-time basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking all aspects of grain testing, seed testing and crop inspections (after training) and testing for independent third parties as well as processing vehicle bookings both in and out of the site whilst upholding Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental standards.

About You

* Excellent administrative and organisational skills
* A flexible approach to time management during peak times
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft office
* Ability to communicate excellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levels
* Proven attention to detail
* Ability to work on own initiative, managing own workload and time, whilst developing effective and supportive relationships with colleagues
* An effective team player
* A polite, friendly, and professional person who is solution focussed and passionate about getting things right first time despite challenges and obstacles
* Whilst previous experience is desirable it isn't essential as full training will be provided to the right candidate

Your Role

As a Trainee Seed Analyst your role will involve:

* Maintaining and developing the laboratory and supervising temporary staff
* Responsibility for testing seed and commercial samples submitted into the laboratory, following guidelines set out by ISTA (International Seed Testing Association) and TASCC (Trade Assured Scheme for Combinable Crops) to make sure they meet standards required by Frontier
* Intake and outload testing
* Sampling of seed on Farm as required
* Ensuring the laboratory and site compliance with TASCC, ESTA and BRC codes of practice
* Compliance with the seed certification schemes governed by APHA/FERA/OSTS
* Sample input onto Generation and Gold, ensuring timely communication between Site operations and Lab
* Crop Inspecting (after training)
* Reporting of results as required to customers/farm traders in an accurate and timely manner
