Role Overview

We are thrilled to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Principal Level Chartered Building Surveyor to become part of our well‑established L&I Technical Due Diligence and Building Surveying team. The position primarily involves handling transaction‑based assignments within the UK, focusing on technical advisory services while allowing room for unique skills and career aspirations.


Key Responsibilities

* Provide technical advisory services and deliver high‑quality Technical Due Diligence (TDD) reports, identifying key risks, assessing severity, quantifying impacts and recommending mitigation actions.
* Manage, commission and deliver a range of professional technical consultancy projects, including TDD, condition surveys and related services.
* Lead service delivery, manage risks, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and produce organic revenue growth to support the business plan for the commercial building surveying offering.
* Communicate effectively with clients, Project Managers and Team Leaders to ensure all necessary information is available and financial controls are maintained.
* Represent Arcadis professionally and act as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders.
* Provide sector directors with quantifiable progress updates on each contract regularly.
* Mentor and develop junior building surveyors through supervision and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications & Experience

* Degree and MRICS qualified with post‑qualification experience (PQE).
* Strong technical expertise in commercial surveying, especially Technical Due Diligence.
* Capacity to manage and commission assignments effectively.
* Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills.
* Detail‑oriented, organized, proactive, flexible and capable of managing priorities while maintaining confidentiality.
* Innovative, self‑motivated, commercially aware and demonstrates integrity, honesty and a strong personal impact.


Additional Responsibilities

* Provide concise and commercially insightful advice to clients.
* Support the TDD team in project and assignment delivery for exceptional outcomes.
* Develop and maintain strong client relationships, manage expectations, ensure timely and accurate work outputs.
* Guide junior team members and work effectively within a team.

Presentable, articulate and capable of building and maintaining relationships both within and outside the company.
