Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled 6G TIG & ARC Welder to join a reputed engineering team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in performing complex welding tasks in the 6G position (fixed 45° angle) using TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) and ARC (Shielded Metal Arc) welding techniques. Strong knowledge of material types, safety standards, and blueprint interpretation is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform precision welding in the 6G position using TIG and ARC welding methods on carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy pipes.
* Interpret and work from technical drawings, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and blueprints.
* Set up and operate welding machines, select proper electrodes/filler rods, and maintain arc stability.
* Inspect and test welded joints for structural soundness and compliance with client or industry standards.
* Perform pre-weld and post-weld operations such as joint preparation, cleaning, and NDT preparation.
* Adhere strictly to safety protocols, proper PPE use, and workshop discipline.
* Maintain equipment and tools in good working condition and report malfunctions promptly.
* Collaborate with supervisors and QA/QC teams for documentation, inspections, and compliance.
Essential Qualifications:
* ITI / Diploma in Welding Technology or a related field.
* Valid 6G welding certification (ASME / AWS / ISO preferred).
* Additional certifications for TIG and SMAW processes will be an added advantage.
Skills Required:
* Proficiency in TIG and ARC welding on pipes in the 6G position.
* In-depth understanding of welding metallurgy, gas flow control, filler materials, and joint configuration.
* Ability to read and interpret welding symbols and engineering drawings.
* Familiarity with WPS and various welding codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API).
* Strong focus on safety, quality, and adherence to work procedures.
* Good physical stamina, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail.
