£53,451 - £59,390 Pro rata
Working hours: Role can be flexible in how hours are delivered over 3 or more days, including one early morning or evening per week to be agreed with the successful candidate. Remote working post or can be based in our central office in Fareham.
One day must include a Thursday or Friday to overlap with other psychologist role to enable peer supervision to take place.
21 hours to be worked in line with successful candidates preference.
We have an excellent opportunity for a Clinical / Counselling Psychologist to play a pivotal role in supporting frontline staff who work with clients facing homelessness, mental and physical health challenges, substance misuse, trauma, and social exclusion.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Client Services and working closely with our Regional Directors and Human Resources Manager, your main responsibilities will include:
Staff Support & Consultation
1. Provide a consultation service for support staff and managers working directly and indirectly with clients at risk of homelessness and complex needs.
2. Offer group reflective practice sessions and individual support to prevent staff burnout and reduce vicarious trauma.
3. Facilitate debriefs after incidents to help staff process events, manage emotions, and build resilience
Leadership
4. Provide a coaching style of leadership that empowers staff to reflect, make decisions, and creatively address challenges.
5. Inspire and motivate colleagues, providing reassurance and guidance in difficult situations.
Relationship Building
6. Develop effective working relationships with internal colleagues to enhance service quality
7. Maintain confidential, supportive environments for staff accessing the Psychology Service.
8. Raise the organisation’s profile regionally and nationally within and beyond the sector.
Performance management
9. Collect and deliver accurate key performance data and outcome data for internal audiences
10. Ensure organisational values, approaches, and culture are consistently demonstrated

No job role profile can be entirely comprehensive and the post holder will be required to undertake additional duties from time to time, in line with the above responsibilities, as required by executive director of client services or the executive team.
Our ideal candidate:
15. Post-graduate doctoral level qualification in clinical or counselling psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society, or British Psychological Society Statement of Equivalence
16. Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a clinical psychologist or a counselling psychologist
17. Experience of having successfully undertaken a similar role and a background of work within the sector
18. Experience of working with people who have substance misuse and complex trauma
19. Experience of evidence based therapeutic interventions including (one or more of) Systemic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Positive Behaviour Support, Mentalisation Based Treatment (MBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy
20. Experience of coaching staff effectively
21. Experience of multi-site and remote management of services and people
22. Ability to work with IT based records, produce reports, and monitor KPI’s
23. Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice in relation to mental health and safeguarding
24. Knowledge of safeguarding adults and young people
25. Knowledge of psychologically informed environments and trauma informed care
26. Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills
27. Ability to build productive internal networks and partnerships
