Job Opportunity: Supply Chain Supervisor
The Recruitment Co is currently recruiting an experienced Supply Chain Supervisor for an internationally recognized manufacturer in the nutritional supplement industry.
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £35,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, rotating shifts (6am-2pm and 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday)
Holiday Allowance: 33 days per year (including bank holidays)
Role Overview
The Supply Chain Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the team has the necessary tools and resources, driving operational excellence, coaching staff, managing budgets, and implementing cost-saving initiatives. The role emphasizes people development, process improvement, quality, and technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety
* Champion health, safety, and environmental practices.
* Ensure risk assessments are available and reviewed.
* Maintain a risk-free working environment for operators.
* Support warehouse risk assessments in collaboration with the Warehouse Manager.
Operational Duties
* Conduct daily team meetings to discuss activities and targets.
* Maintain inventory accuracy according to company standards.
* Hold weekly meetings with the warehouse manager to discuss training, non-conformances, SOPs, staffing, and improvements.
* Manage attendance records and staff timesheets.
* Ensure weekly cleaning of reports and compile information for management review.
* Monitor transfer, expiry, and quarantine of materials, coordinating with QC.
* Conduct weekly stock cycle counts and maintain accurate reports.
* Maintain area standards and investigate supply chain CAPAs and non-conformances.
* Manage product recall and traceability processes.
* Prepare for audits by understanding operational processes and documentation.
* Handle incident and accident reporting.
Goods Inward / Despatch
* Process all stock deliveries within an 8-hour shift.
* Report discrepancies and follow up with purchasing.
* Ensure SOP compliance, including pallet handling and labeling.
* Update SOPs and training matrices; develop competence questions.
* Generate and clean reports weekly; ensure dispatch accuracy and customer requirements.
* Update expiry reports and communicate with relevant departments.
Raw Material / Packing
* Create and update SOPs; maintain training matrices.
* Develop competence questions for training support.
* Ensure stock locations are correctly wrapped and labeled.
* Monitor picking accuracy; perform random checks.
* Manage return stock and update Sage transfers.
* Encourage team cross-training.
* Run weekly expiry reports and manage quarantine stock.
Production / Material Handlers
* Ensure daily role coverage.
* Provide daily updates to managers.
* Maintain clear communication with production leaders.
* Complete weekly reports for management meetings.
* Coordinate with supervisors to prevent production downtime.
* Record additional stock from cold storage against raw material work orders.
OTIF / Plan Attainment
* Ensure plan completion and accurate discrepancy reporting.
* Work with departments to resolve blockers to OTIF.
Development & Improvement
* Coach and develop team members with individual development plans.
* Maintain and utilize the training matrix.
* Support team improvement initiatives.
