Consulting Director – Data Consultancy
A specialist data consultancy is seeking a Consulting Director to lead and grow its core capabilities, with particular focus on Data Architecture and Data Engineering.
This is a pivotal leadership role in which you will apply your technical expertise to develop innovative architectural and engineering solutions, while balancing strategic oversight with hands-on delivery. We are looking for a dynamic individual with a blend of commercial acumen, strategic vision, and people leadership. The ideal candidate will have the gravitas to develop and expand client relationships and the foresight to identify new business opportunities through their professional network.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and scale the consultancy’s foundational capabilities, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency across client engagements.
* Collaborate with Capability Leads to ensure they take full ownership of day-to-day operations. You will work closely with colleagues across Consulting, Growth, Marketing, HR, and Finance.
* Identify skill gaps across the team and implement targeted development programmes.
* Translate complex data challenges into compelling commercial solutions, influencing stakeholders at all levels.
* Develop strategic frameworks to support clients in transitioning from legacy systems to data-driven practices.
* Provide oversight and support to Capability and Practice Leads to ensure technical project delivery is completed on time and within budget.
Required Skills & Experience:
* Proven experience in consulting, transformation, or project delivery, including leading end-to-end programmes within large, complex organisations, utilising a variety of project management methodologies.
* Ability to operate effectively in both small, agile environments and at scale.
* A strong passion for data and AI, with knowledge or experience spanning data architecture, engineering, and data management.
* Demonstrated experience in developing, mentoring, and supporting senior colleagues and technical teams. You will play a key role in nurturing consulting capabilities among team members.
* Commercially astute, with a track record of meeting commercial targets and identifying opportunities to grow existing client accounts.
