Overview
Lovell Strategic Land is a business within Lovell, a division of Morgan Sindall Plc. Lovell Strategic Land is a specialist team with the purpose to identify, acquire, promote, master plan, obtain planning permission on longer term opportunities throughout the UK with the aim to feed the Lovell Regions a pipeline of sites for residentially led development. Reporting to the Associate Development Director, you will assist in the preparation of planning appraisals, developing and implementing strategies for the promotion of residential-led strategic land, and securing viable, deliverable planning consents as early as possible. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping long-term development opportunities and driving projects forward with vision and precision. Your role will involve monitoring planning performance indicators, reviewing risks, managing consultant teams and budgets, and supporting design evolution through the planning process. You will work closely with various teams across the business, ensuring that developments meet policy, legal, and sustainability standards while also aligning with broader company objectives and KPIs.
We are looking for a qualified Planner with a relevant degree and who has been a full, chartered member of the RTPI for at least 1 year. The successful candidate will have knowledge and practical understanding of Planning Legislation, Local Plan Promotion, EIA process and best practice and have had previous success at negotiating Planning Conditions and Obligations. Experience in preparing, submitting and progressing successful planning applications is essential. Strong communication skills and good knowledge of MS packages are also required.

Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of planning appraisals and the promotion of residential-led strategic land.
* Develop and implement strategies to secure viable, deliverable planning consents as early as possible.
* Monitor planning performance indicators, review risks, and manage consultant teams and budgets.
* Support design evolution through the planning process and ensure compliance with policy, legal, and sustainability standards.
* Collaborate with internal teams to align developments with broader company objectives and KPIs.
Qualifications
* Degree in a relevant field; full Chartered membership of RTPI for at least 1 year.
* Knowledge of Planning Legislation, Local Plan Promotion, EIA process, and best practice.
* Experience negotiating Planning Conditions and Obligations.
* Experience in preparing, submitting, and progressing successful planning applications (essential).
* Strong communication skills and good knowledge of MS packages.
