About the Role

We are seeking a committed and empathetic SEN Learning Support Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive school setting. You will work closely with students who have a range of needs, such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health), and moderate learning difficulties.
This is a rewarding and hands-on role where you will provide one-to-one and small group support, helping learners access the curriculum, build confidence, and develop life skills.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to students with SEN, both in and out of the classroom
Assist with managing behaviour using positive and proactive strategies
Support students with communication, emotional regulation, and academic development
Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
Prepare and adapt learning materials to suit individual needs
Track student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents
Promote inclusion and encourage independence wherever possible
Ideal Candidate
Experience working with children or young people with SEN (in school, care, or youth work settings)
Understanding of common SEN profiles such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or global developmental delay
Calm, patient, and resilient, with the ability to manage emotional and behavioural challenges
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Confident working both one-on-one and as part of a team
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
