Department Overview: The Aston Martin new Motion Control Department, within Software & Electronic Technologies group, is responsible for delivering all the in-house software contents, related to longitudinal, lateral and vertical motion of the vehicle, across all AML product range. Job Purpose: Enhancing the software development and deployment processes with DevOps capabilities. Automate and accelerate the testing, release and deployment of automotive software applications into a runtime environment quickly and reliably. Key Duties and Responsibilities: Design, architect, implement, manage, and continuously evolve CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and automation frameworks to drive efficiency and reliability in automotive (motion control) software delivery Lead end-to-end DevOps delivery for one or more critical software packages, including planning, estimation, execution, and progress tracking of own and team members' workloads Strategically plan and execute environment setup for development, testing, and operations on cloud-based infrastructure (AWS/Azure), with a focus on secure networking and scalability Proactively lead and resolve complex technical challenges, ensuring stability and performance across the DevOps landscape Develop robust automation code (e.g., Python, Shell, YAML) to streamline repetitive tasks and enhance system efficiency and reliability Create, maintain, and enforce documentation standards for infrastructure, processes, and operational procedures Enforce security best practices, conduct vulnerability assessments, and ensure alignment with industry standards and regulatory compliance Champion Agile delivery methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, BDD, and TDD, to drive cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement Architect and maintain scalable monitoring and logging solutions for proactive system observability Oversee configuration management using Ansible or equivalent tools to maintain consistent and reliable environments Experience and Qualifications: Proven experience in architecting cloud-based solutions with a focus on high availability, scalability, and adherence to security best practices Extensive hands-on expertise with tools and technologies including GitHub/Bitbucket, AWS and Azure cloud services (e.g., VMs, networking, gateways, access management, databases, serverless functions), Ansible, Terraform, Azure Artifacts, Kubernetes, and Docker Strong understanding of network protocols, security principles, and regulatory compliance requirements Well-versed in change and release management practices, ensuring controlled and reliable delivery across environments Strong scripting skills in Python, Shell, and YAML for automating infrastructure, deployments, and operational tasks Knowledge of embedded software development and/or automotive AUTOSAR software is a strong plus Experience working in Agile/Scrum software development environments Familiarity with reporting and dashboard tools such as Tableau and Power BI Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
