Responsibilities
As a Smart Places – Product Solution Consultant, you will create repeatable product propositions contributing to North’s Smart Places portfolio and roadmap by collaborating with partners, customers, and internal teams. You will be an IoT and Smart Places SME, participating in new bid opportunities and developing your role as a trusted advisor. You will stay abreast of evolving IoT and Smart Places technologies, competitors, and solutions, taking responsibility for the commercial success of your allocated product solutions and partners within the portfolio.
This role requires strategic and commercial acumen, technical expertise, and strong relationship skills.
Product Solutions Consultant
* Maintain an in-depth understanding of IoT, LoRaWAN, sensors, applications, analytics, and decision-making solutions relevant to North’s target sectors.
* Contribute to the overall Smart Places IoT strategy and develop repeatable, profitable propositions.
* Assist in developing North’s IoT product roadmap, including vendor recommendations and technology choices.
* Collaborate with Marketing and Sector teams to develop compelling IoT and Smart Places solutions.
* Create sales training, pre-sales presentations, battlecards, bid documents, technical demos, and workshops to support propositions.
* Work with Commercial, Finance, and Sector teams to optimize pricing and bid models.
Technical Consultancy
* Develop North’s IoT and Smart Places solutions continuously.
* Research, create, and test new IoT sensors, connectivity, and data/application solutions.
* Incorporate customer feedback to validate and enhance North’s offerings and roadmap.
* Support pre-sales efforts with sector-specific propositions and bid responses.
* Maintain technical and commercial partner relationships to support products and propositions.
Qualifications
To succeed, you should have:
* Proven experience delivering end-to-end smart place and IoT solutions with clear business outcomes.
* Strong market and technical knowledge of sensors, IoT connectivity, applications, and analytics.
* Knowledge of LoRaWAN networking technology is advantageous.
* Experience in product/service development, launch, and lifecycle management, able to work independently and in teams.
* Excellent relationship management skills.
* Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
* Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
Location
Camberley is preferable.
